Questions families ask

What paperwork should I bring to the first appointment?

For the first visit, the most important thing is having your child’s basic information and insurance information available. Any additional records, such as previous evaluations, IEP paperwork, or therapy reports, are helpful but we can discuss what is needed before the appointment.

My child hasn't been diagnosed yet. Can we still come in?

Of course. You don’t have to wait until your child has a diagnosis to seek support. If you’re noticing something that doesn’t feel quite right, I’d rather have the opportunity to evaluate your child and discuss your concerns with you.

What should my child wear?

For the first visit, I recommend something comfortable that your child can move around in easily. We’ll be assessing their physical abilities, so clothing that allows us to observe their movement will make the evaluation easier.

My child gets upset with new people. How do you handle that?

That’s okay. I know that a new person and a new environment can feel overwhelming for some children. I’ll give your child time to adjust and won’t pressure them to do everything immediately. We can start with small interactions and build from there.

Do you work with children who are autistic or have a developmental delay?

Absolutely. I’m comfortable working with children who have autism or developmental delays. I understand that some children may need a little more time, patience, or a different approach, and I adjust therapy based on what works best for each child.
